Irish Moss

June 23, 2016 (175/366) "May the joys of today be those of tomorrow." - An Irish Blessing

Today, we started planting our green & white garden. Tomorrow and for years to come, we will enjoy it more and more. The Irish Moss will nestle between the flagstone steppers. Photos to come.]

Strawberries

June 21, 2016 (173/366) "Strawberry fields forever..." - John Lennon

You can't beat Wisconsin strawberries freshly picked in June. For years, my mom and grandma would buy flats of berries from Chaudoir's in Sturgeon Bay. We spent hours prepping berries for jam and shortcake before freezing them to enjoy long after the season ended. Sadly, the crops at Chaudoir's were destroyed in a hailstorm in 2007, yet I still look forward to seasonal strawberries. Here's my recipe for strawberry-spinach salad. Martha has some good ideas too ;-)
