Miss Piggy

October 19, 2016 (293/366) Meet Bacon!

"I think we love bacon because it has all the qualities of an amazing sensory experience." - Alexandra Guarnaschelli

Today was CCR Day @ PHS (College and Career Readiness). We hosted professionals from within the community, and although I was so happy to host the photographer/entrepreneur from z2, I just had to visit the veterinarian who came with Bacon -- yes, that's her name! Bacon is "Pretty in Pink" right down to her hoofs! Duck Hunting

October 18, 2016 (292/366)

"Hunting wasn't a just sport. It was a way to be intimate with nature." - Ted Kerasote

My dad was the ultimate outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating -- anything that enabled him to commune with nature. I never really understood the allure of the hunt, but I always respected Dad's love of nature; and, of course, I doted on the labradors and beagles that joined our family to help Dad hunt ducks and rabbits respectively. Dad would have loved Piper -- she's supposed to be a rabbit dog (and she love that too), but these days, her favorite sport is "duck hunting."

Pretty Messy

October 17, 2016 (291/366) Isn't October great?

"At a certain point, you have to kind of realize that greatness is a messy thing." - James Gray

Softly...

October 16, 2016 (290/366)

“Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon like a magician extended his golden wand o'er the landscape; Twinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together.”- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Evangeline

BFFs

October 15, 2016 (289/366)

"A true friend is the greatest of all blessings" - François de La Rochefoucauld

Piper and Roxie are having a slumber party this weekend. Technically, Roxie is Piper's Auntie, but they've been BFFs since the first day they met!

Layers

October 14, 2016 (288/366)

“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative...The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers...” - Anais Nin
