Each year, right before school starts, I spend a day doing nothing but reading, watching movies, napping, and other equally idle pursuits. My loafing partner is always ready to join in, but this year she’s a little under the weather. She should feel better once the antibiotics do their thing, but in the meantime, we’ll savor today’s snuggles.

This beautiful Grotto of the Blessed Virgin, behind Saint Joan of Arc Chapel on the Marquette University campus, was dedicated earlier this year to honor Our Lady of Lourdes. The sacred space reminds us that our Blessed Mother always hears our prayers.
