Le Panthéon est un monument de style néo-classique au cœur du Quartier latin, sur la montagne Sainte-Geneviève. L'architecture reprend la façade du Panthéon de Rome, construit au 1er siècle av. J.-C. Plusieurs personnages historiques, littéraires, scientistes, et artistes sont inhumés au Panthéon y compris Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Louis Braille, Sadi Carnot, Émile Zola, Jean Jaurès, Jean Moulin, Jean Monnet, Pierre et Marie Curie, André Malraux, et Alexandre Dumas. Le Panthéon est aussi l'endroit de le célèbre Pendule du Foucault qui met en evidence la rotation de la Terre.
